In my last newsletter I emphasized the value of measuring our spiritual intentions and their impact on us. Measuring them helps us realize their real importance. I imagine, however, that the value of intentions remains hard to grasp because at lunch today I had a discussion with my wife about our intentions and how they are what form our character.

The key to a deeper understanding of the effects of messages is our intention. A spiritual intention is our commitment to act in a particular way in a particular situation for a particular spiritual purpose. For an intention to be meaningful, we need to be able to deliver on what we have committed to doing.

We feel motivated to know more by using the ways of one or another religious or spiritual tradition as reference points in relation to which we decode our messages. Messages then help us know if we are applying the theory we have learned correctly or not.
